A lot going on and a few unanswered questions so get your slice of lemon poundcake and a glass of iced coffee amd let’s jump in.
Last week Ashley and I traveled to the University of Kentucky Hospital for my pre-op consultation before I have my gallbladder removed. The doctor pages and prodded all over my abdomen asking if this hurt or does that hurt. I felt zero pain when he pushed down on my body. After he was done, he sat there for a second looking quote a bit perplexed. He then explained to us that he does not feel my symptoms are directly associated with my gallbladder. He felt my symptoms are related to my gastroparesis. His professional opinion was that the gallbladder did not need removal at this time. Now we must schedule an appointment with the GI doc to figure out what best medication will help me.
Another challenge I have faced is the decline of my white blood cell count. Transplant feels confident that is it is my medication and they have to find the right combination to fix. Of course if it is not my meds then we have to look into other possibilities as leukemia or bone cancer/disorders. I’m hoping for the meds.
so strange that my ailments are not necessarily associated to the transplant yet it is all connected.
The worst thing right now is dealing with the Orthostatic hypotension. I lay in bed almost all day taking it easy. If I need to get up I have to sit up on the side of the bed for a few moments and then stabilize myself once I stand.
I was also told that I need to quarantine by myself as much as possible since I have no immune system. also because of the rise of the new covid varian.
well that’s it for now. Please comment below if you have any questions. Thanks!
