Big Update - Artful Nudity (May Be NSFW)

First off, yes I have a live anonymous kidney donor lined up for surgery on January 11th.

A couple of weeks ago I contacted Kelly Casper Gerstle to see if we could do another dudeoir photoshoot. I wanted to use them to get attention to find a potential donor. After we decided on a date and time, I received a call from University of Kentucky Transplant with information of my upcoming surgery. I was overwhelmed and it took me some time to process.

With the news I figured I did not need the pictures for the original purpose. What I decided was to use the pictures as an opportunity to continue to promote body positivity and continue my story. As you can see in the pics, I have a chest catheter which was needed for my dialysis as the preferred option (fistula) would take too long.

One thing I have learned from this is that body positivity includes medical and/or physical differences that make you special. I need the catheter to survive therefore it is part of me and I am proud. Catheters, scars, colostomy equipment and prosthesis are all reasons to love yourself even more because they make you unique and special in your own way.

I also want to give a special thanks to the anonymous donor, Ashley Caines Heitzmann, Jen Loomis, Sarah Johnson and Kelly Gasper Gerstle. You all mean the world to me!
